Austin Air HealthMate Jr. Air Purifier

The Austin Air HealthMate Jr series is the ideal air purifier for someone looking for the power of the HealthMate line in a more compact size. This unit weighs 18 pounds and can easily be moved due to its lighter weight, but does not include the castors found on the full-sized models. The HealthMate Jr Air Purifier is designed to clean a smaller, 700 square feet area and is comprised of 6.5 pounds of Carbon-Zeolite filter mix rather than the 15 pounds found in the full-size HealthMate models. The HealthMate Junior also features the medical grade True HEPA filter in addition to the carbon-zeolite to filter a wide variety of contaminants including dust, pollen, dander, odors and chemical vapors. This unit is ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers or those with chemical sensitivities. 

Just as the flagship HealthMate model, the HealthMate Junior series offers the 360° progressive filtering system. This model offers an intake system which draws air into all sides of the air purifier before passing that air through four filtration stages. The first stage the air is filtered through is the pre-filter. This cotton filter is designed to capture larger particles seen with the naked eye, including dust, hair, lint, and pet dander. The pre-filter can be easily vacuumed clean from the outside of the purifier which prolongs the life of this filter and the additional filters, while also alleviating additional filter replacement costs. The main filter within this unit combines three more filtration stages: A medium-particle pre-filter traps those slightly smaller allergens like mold spores and pollen; A 6.5 pound bed of activated granular carbon/zeolite mixture aids in the adsorption of commonly found household odors, chemicals, and gases from your indoor air; The final and fourth filtration stage is the substantial 30 square feet of certified, medical-grade, True HEPA filter media which traps 99.97% of the smallest microscopic particles down to 0.3 microns. These particles are the ones you cannot see including bacteria and viruses. These filtration factors result in an air purifier that delivers more clean air faster and more efficiently than any other air cleaner available on the market today. The filters come with an impressive 5-year pro-rated warranty under normal residential use. 

As mentioned above, the HealthMate Junior series offers a 360° progressive filtering system. This system is created using perforated steel to encompass all the interior components. The perforated steel offers the consumer added benefits due to its strength, unlike the plastic units available from competitors. The HealthMate Junior is available in five color options - black, white, sandstone, silver, and midnight blue - which are a baked-on, powder coat finish. The method of baking on the powder coat finish is an additional health feature because this method does not put off any gases as is the case with plastic purifiers that have a painted finish - both of which put off harmful gases to the indoor air. 

The interior components of this air purifier aside from the filtration materials are top of the line. The centrifugal fan operates at a rate of up to 200cfm (on the high setting) and offers 3 speed options. The motor is a high efficiency shaded pole motor rated for continuous high RPM, long life duty, and is mounted on shock absorbers. The unit operates under the following power rates: 1.2 amp; 120 volts; 132 Watts. These units are also CSA and UL approved, and offer a 5-year warranty.
